2018 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Pacific Northwest Region Student Conference
April 5–8, 2018, Oregon Tech and the American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter will be hosting the 2018 PNW Region Student Conference. This event will bring 400 people from the 18 Universities that make up the ASCE PNW Region to Klamath Falls.
This conference is made up of two main competitions, Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe. These competitions allow students to use what they have learned in the classroom and apply it to developing these projects. Each student will gain skills for their path to becoming an exceptional engineer.
ASCE prepares students to become successful in their career as an engineer by offering opportunities to be involved in conferences and competitions like this, which allow them to network and learn from working engineers and other professionals involved.
Community involvement will make this a positive experience that shapes the students into successful professionals. They need your help to make all of this possible. Your contribution to Oregon Tech’s ASCE Student Chapter will be greatly appreciated.
There are multiple ways that you can help make the conference a success:
- Volunteering as a judge for one or more of the competitions
- Donating your resources (i.e. machinery to help move the concrete canoes, etc.)
- Donating to swag bags such as note taking tablets, pens, water bottles, etc.
- Monetary Donations
One of the largest ways you can contribute is by becoming a sponsor for this amazing event!
