On January 1, 2016 the Statewide Mandated Sick Leave Law will go into effect. Is your company ready? In addition to working with the State Legislature and BOLI to soften the impact of the new law, AGC has also developed a detailed, construction-specific, three-part technical assistance package that our members can utilize to ensure full compliance:
- An overview of the Statewide Mandated Sick Leave Law;
- How to determine whether your company needs to comply with the law, including whether your Collectively Bargained Agreement is one of the few that makes you exempt; and
- How to meet the specific requirements of the law, including tracking hours, accrual, front-loading, Paid Time Off policies, usage, and other administrative challenges and tips
The contents of the technical assistance package will be covered in two construction-specific seminars hosted by AGC. The first seminar will be held on Monday January 18, 2016 in Redmond, OR and the second seminar will be held on Tuesday January 19, 2016 in Eugene, OR. Both seminars will be led by Employment Law Attorney Leora Coleman-Fire with Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt and will include a presentation of the technical assistance package followed by a question and answer session.
