Spotlight on Convergence Networks

Convergence Networks is a technology services company with 45 employees headquartered in Milwaukie, Oregon. Since their founding in 2000, they have become a leader in customer support experience, consultative IT solutions, and employee retention. Their organization has been voted one of the top 100 places to work in Oregon several times, along with being recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Oregon. Convergence provides fully outsourced or collaborative technology support and service solutions to organizations of varying sizes (typically 500 users and less). The team at Convergence works diligently to stay ahead of the technology curve for their clients and provides solutions with business requirements as their guide, not the latest marketing shtick to hit the news.

At Convergence, their mission is to be great. They want to grow their company with positive client partnerships by delivering exceptional value for both organizations. Their team approach allows each of their employees to grow individually in their chosen career path, and all employees are pushing forward to achieve the same goals. Existing client partnerships are priority number one, and Convergence believes this is a critical piece of their ongoing success. They hold themselves to a high standard of accountability to make sure issues are handled correctly and timely. The team at Convergence wants to be known as the Northwest’s leading technology partner for small businesses. Just ask one of their client partners (like AGC)! AGC has been a client partner of Convergence support and services for over five years.

The economic downturn in the mid-2000s forced many companies to consolidate and tighten their spending. Outsourcing technology support was a good way to streamline budgets and take advantage of newer solutions that might otherwise have been out of reach. Their relationship with AGC helped Convergence win opportunities with some of the strongest companies to emerge from the recession. The ongoing relationship with AGC will help Convergence to continue to grow and provide industry-leading information security solutions to organizations in the construction industry.

In 2017, Convergence teams are focused on information security. As they consult with companies all around the region, the number one topic of concern is information security and how to mitigate the risk of a breach, ransomware, and viruses that could shut a company down for hours or even days. It’s all over the news week in and week out, but many businesses have not taken the necessary steps to harden their networks, evolve their policies and procedures, or increase staff education. The leadership team at Convergence feels the biggest risk to business owners is a breach of information security. The Convergence team is determined to make sure each company they partner with has a strong foundation in technical security to mitigate as much risk as possible.

A key team within Convergence is their Azure Practice Team, which focuses on Office 365 and Microsoft Cloud Services delivered through Azure. The team, comprised of internal staff members, works together evaluating the different server, information security, backup and disaster recovery, and infrastructure solutions offered by Microsoft to small businesses. The team also provides client-specific project consulting in collaboration with Microsoft engineering team members to validate and broaden the use cases for cloud solutions in the small business sector.

To leave you with one final thought, Convergence is a technology partner, not just a vendor…that is how they drive client partnership success.
