We are excited to introduce Lauren Farmen, the new outreach and industry relations coordinator for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University.
Lauren hit the ground running in January, attending the OSU student competition in Reno her very first week. She has also been busy coordinating the upcoming April 12 Contractors Night event, assisting the OSU AGC student chapter, planning CEM and CEF golf tournaments, coordinating speakers nights for OSU CEM/CCE students, meeting and connecting with AGC staff, and a whole plethora of other outreach activities connecting students and graduates with contractors. If you have any connections with the OSU CCE students or the programs, no doubt you will be getting to know Lauren!
Lauren was gracious enough to provide a little bio about herself. “Growing up in the small, ranching community of Lakeview, Oregon I was very involved in sports, dance, 4-H, and FFA. Luckily for me, when you grow up in a little town you can be involved in whatever you want—even if you are not the greatest at something—the rosters just need to be filled. After high school, I served for one year as a State FFA officer for the Oregon FFA Association. In September of 2003 I finally became a Beaver! In 2007 I received my undergraduate degree in General Agriculture and my Masters of Science degree in Agricultural Education in 2008. While in school I worked for OSU’s Animal Sciences Department, and interned with both OSU’s Sun Grant Initiative and the California State Fair. For the past five years I taught high school agriculture, careers, and leadership classes at Dallas High School. In July 2012 I married the love of my life, Jason Schnoor. Jason and I reside in Corvallis, along with our dog “Coach.” I am very happy and proud to be a part of the OSU CCE team and cannot wait to meet all of you. The interactions I have had with our industry partners, to-date, has been overwhelmingly positive. I am excited to be a part of the progressive changes in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering.”
We welcome Lauren to the OSU CCE team and the AGC family. We are looking forward to her energy, enthusiasm and expertise as AGC continues to invest in and help develop the next generation of construction professionals at OSU!
