Know a stand-out student interested in pursuing a career in a trade industry who deserves recognition?
The Portland Tribune is seeking nominations for its 2017 Amazing Kids Award. The annual award is presented to a young person in our community, and this year Business Tribune staff will select an Amazing Kid based on the nominee’s demonstrated efforts toward improving his or her community and their desire to pursue a career in the trades industry, architecture, or engineering. While the nominee may be accomplished in academic studies, sports, dance, music, or other disciplines, the student’s desire and motivation to pursue a career in the trades industry will be of primary importance.
The Business Tribune’s honoree will be recognized alongside other Amazing Kids from communities across northwest Oregon at a gala event on May 8 hosted by Pamplin Media Group. In addition, our Amazing Kid will be the focus of a feature story published in a special section distributed in 20 Pamplin Media Group newspapers in May, reaching 425,000 community-minded readers.
Nominees can be enrolled as a student at a private, public, or charter school, or be home-schooled.
To submit a nomination for this year’s contest, you’ll need to provide the name of the nominee, along with his or her address and a contact phone number or email address for the nominee or his or her parent(s) or guardian(s). You will also need to include your name and contact information, and your relationship to the nominee. Then, in 150 words or less, describe the nominee’s achievements and why he or she should be selected.
