Employee Voter Registration Week: September 26–30, 2016
AGC of America, along with other industry groups across the country, will kick off Employee Voter Registration Week on September 26.
The construction industry and the millions of workers it employs have much at stake in this election. At a time when the industry is rebounding from the longest and deepest slump of any sector, it is especially important to elect leaders willing to work for common-sense solutions to the challenges facing the construction industry and its workforce.
Together, general and specialty contractors, service providers, and suppliers have a unique opportunity this year to shape our future by helping to elect a new president, 34 US senators, 435 US representatives, and many statewide and local officials.
In order for our voices to be heard in this ever-changing political landscape, we must register to vote and cast our ballots early, or on Election Day. Our jobs can be demanding and the hours long, and it can be difficult to balance work and family commitments, but voting must be a priority.
Registering and voting doesn’t have to be difficult or take up much time. AGC makes it easy for you and your colleagues, friends, and family by hosting a voter registration and election information center at ConstructionVotes.com.
Download the Employee Voter Registration Week poster and employer toolkit containing sample messages to help promote this effort to your colleagues.
Don’t be silent. Be a part of our democracy. Help make the construction industry’s voice heard loudly and clearly this fall.
