Over 50 Employees and Working on a State Contract?

Effective January 1, 2016: Pay Equity Compliance Certificate Requirement

Senate Bill 491 established the requirement for the bidder or proposer to comply with the pay equity provisions of state law for state agency procurements.

Who

If you are an employer with 50 or more full-time employees and you intend to bid or propose on any state agency contracts that may be valued at $500,000 or more, you will be required to complete the DAS online training and submit a completed certificate of compliance with your bid or proposal.

What

The training is free and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, and covers the following topics:

  • What is pay equity?
  • Why is pay equity important?
  • Benefits of pay equity
  • Federal/state laws and achieving pay equity in your workplace

How

To complete the training and receive your certificate you must pass an 11-question quiz with a score of 80% or better.
